Little Chartrooms plates are not traditional French home cooking, but rather haute cuisine Michelin-level plates in a very unique style, created by a grandious chef.

This Laid-back Little Restaurant
The restaurant is reasonably priced and uses locally sourced ingredients! It is probably best to book ahead because of the popularity of this buzzing little restaurant.
The food is truly outstanding every course is a feast for the eyes and taste. Each course was perfectly balanced and beautifully presented.
One very happy customer commented that set lunch is well presented and excellent value for money!
In the front of house, Shaun is very friendly, helpful, informative and efficient, as are all the staff. The overall atmosphere is buzzing and the prices are excellent for this quality and level of food. Well worth a visit!

Award-Winning Cosy Little Restaurant

There are just nine tables in this atmospheric basement restaurant, making booking ahead a must.
Award-winning Chef and owner Paul Gunning has worked in 5-star hotels, Michelin starred and 2 to 3 Rosette restaurants, under chefs such as Marco Pierre White, Phil Thompson, Jeff Bland and Jean Michel Gauffre.
The food is magnificent; while the atmosphere and service are relaxed, the food quality is never in doubt. The flavour combinations Paul cooks up and the presentation are superb. The delicious five-course and seven-course tasting menus with matching wine are incredible and well worth a try!

Converted Whisky Warehouse
This patriotic little restaurant boasts the philosophy of ‘from nature to plate.’ It serves up British seasonal cuisine influenced by French cooking techniques and uses top quality locally sourced ingredients.
It opened in 2006 and was awarded a Michelin in 2007 followed by numerous prestigious awards including ‘Best UK Restaurant,’ ‘Best Restaurant in Scotland’ and ‘Best Restaurant Experience.’
Owner and Chef Tom Kitchin became Scotland’s youngest Michelin starred chef-proprietor at the age of 29. He has worked at some of the best restaurants and with some of the most renowned chefs, including Pierre Koffmann at the three-star La Tante Claire in London, The 3-star Michelin restaurant Guy Savoy in Paris Alain Ducasse’s three-star Michelin Le Louis XV restaurant in Monte Carlo.
Tom launched his debut book at the Edinburgh Book Festival in August 2009, ‘From Nature to Plate,’ which has been the restaurant’s philosophy. He followed this in 2010 with ‘Kitchin Suppers.’

A perfect mix of classic dishes
Owner and Chef Martin Wishart was born in Edinburgh and has established himself as one of the UK’s most highly respected chefs. Martin trained under Chefs such as Albert Roux, Michel Roux Jr, Marco Pierre White, and John Burton-Race, taking a little bit of inspiration from each mentor.
Martin serves up delicious food with a passion for food and a great understanding of classic French cooking techniques every time. Being a proud Scot, Martin likes to use Scottish produce and has built lasting relationships with many of his suppliers.
The décor is tasteful, and the restaurant’s atmosphere is relaxed, and the staff are professional and attentive. Well worth a visit!

Slow Cooking – Real Food
At L’ Escargot Bleu Award winning Chef and owner Fred Berkmiller always uses ingredients that respect the farmer’s ethos, the grower’s philosophy, the fisherman’s respect for the ocean, and the cheesemaker’s traditional recipe.
This restaurant is also famous for Take Away, with everything ready to re-heat and eat (no cooking experience needed). All dishes can be kept in the fridge for 2-3 days.
Takeaway orders are taken on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays for collection and delivery on Thursday and Friday. They do not accept orders for same-day collections/deliveries, but you can order (at least one day) in advance for any of their collection/delivery days. The order line is open Tuesday and Wednesday: 10 am – 1 pm, then 2 – 4 pm. Thursday: 10am – 1pm

Cote never disappoints the staff are very friendly, the food is always lovely and freshly cooked.
The Cote has been fashioned on the famous bistros of Paris, and is devoted to serving classic brasserie dishes that have a modern twist.
The takeaway service is a four-step process, browse and choose your food, then choose a delivery date that suits you. On the day of your delivery, you will receive an email with a two-hour delivery slot. If you live inside the M25, you will receive your delivery by a chilled delivery van.
Many of the meals and products can be frozen as per instructions.

Roisin & Matthias Llorente are the chef and owners; having met in Edinburgh in 2000, they cooked their way around Switzerland, Singapore, and New York before choosing Edinburgh to open their restaurant.
The restaurant has a lovely welcoming feel, and the menu has a lot of choices and specials to choose from.

Great Tasty French Food
This is an excellent, unpretentious French restaurant that serves up delicious food that is very reasonably priced. The ambiance is warm and welcoming, and the staff are very friendly and helpful.
It is the perfect place to start the day with an excellent breakfast, or for lunch, cake, and coffee, or a full meal. This little gem is well worth a visit; you really won’t be disappointed.

Oozing with Parisian Charm
Petit Paris is a beautiful little gem situation in Edinburgh’s historic Grassmarket area. The ambiance is cozy, and the staff are wonderfully welcoming.
The food is delicious and very well presented. Everything about this little place is lovely from its white-washed walls and checked tablecloths to the snails grilled with garlic, parsley, and Pernod butter.
